The Acumen’s Fellows Program is looking for a bilingual (Spanish / English), enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with 4 – 5 years of professional experience to bring operational excellence to our Fellows program as we scale our program globally. We are looking for a detail-oriented project manager to build out and implement key processes to empower regional teams in identifying and selecting Fellows and delivering a quality, yearly program. This role is based in New York.

About Acumen’s Fellows Program
Acumen’s Fellows Program is a free, one-year leadership development program. Each program selects up to 20 local emerging leaders. Fellows have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and develop new leadership skills that support the trajectory of their social impact work.
In 2020, Acumen’s Fellows Program will be offered in 8 regions: Bangladesh, Colombia, East Africa, India, Malaysia, Spain, the United Kingdom, and West Africa. Each program is managed locally with curriculum, marketing, and operational support provided from the center to ensure efficiency and coherence. About the role
You will support the Associate Director of Fellowship Operations in improving the Fellows selection process across all regions and scaling new regions in 2021 and beyond. The work requires balancing the needs of our overall strategy and services against or with the needs, constraints, styles, and aspirations of regional team. This role reports directly to the Associate Director.
Working with the Associate Director to ensure that all regions are empowered throughout the selection process in selecting their yearly Fellows, including supervising all regions and tracking various metrics while looking for opportunities to improve future cycles.
Supporting all regions to promote their program, identify local high-potential people, and complete a multi-stage selection process spanning eight months.
Helping to migrate regional teams to our new application platform.
Training and onboarding the regions to our new platform and processes by facilitating group-based training, 1×1 mentoring, and support and knowledge management in forms of bi-lingual guides and tutorials.
Coordinating and communicating closely with other teams within Acumen to represent the regional constraints and aspirations on the ground.
Skills and Qualifications
The role requires a structured thinker with a deep appreciation for detail, organization, and the user perspective. As there are many moving parts and stakeholders to engage, a willingness to listen, learn, and adapt to different operational styles, team structures, and priorities is required.
Fluent in both English and Spanish
Minimum of 4 – 5 years of professional working experience
Excellent verbal and written communication and team management skills
Detailed, timely, and communicative project manager
The ability to take a user perspective on the solutions developed (diverse regional teams will use your solutions… have you made it easy or hard on them?)
Ability to collaborate effectively with different personalities and styles across levels, functions, and geographies, both internally and externally
Critical thinker accustomed to working, problem solving, and collaborating thoughtfully in a fast-paced environment
Mission driven and passionate about the purpose of Acumen’s Fellows Program
Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen’s core values
Familiarity with tools such as Slack, Google Doc/Sheet/Slide, Microsoft Excel
BONUS: proven work experience supporting the operational aspect of running a leadership development program
BONUS: proven work experience as a recruiting manager or in similar HR role, or good knowledge of candidate selection methods
BONUS: hands-on experience with SurveyMonkey Apply, Salesforce, Hubspot a plus
Permanently authorized to work in the U.S.
New York, NY (strongly preferred) or San Francisco, CA There will be calls with all regions, so working out of San Francisco means you are willing to take calls early in the morning. The reporting manager will be based in New York.
